Meet Your Mentor

Mentor Mike Abary

Mike Abary is an executive with nearly 30 years of successful experience growing and leading businesses. He’s led organizations in the hundreds and overseen billion-dollar divisions with a number of Fortune 500 companies. Presently, Mike is Vice President, APAC Devices and Services Business at Google. In this role, he leads sales and the go-to-market strategy for Google’s hardware and services portfolio for Asia-Pacific, the fastest growing region for the company. Mike also presently serves as Chairman of Mahogany Holdings Corp, a company he founded in 2019 focused on acquiring under-performing small businesses and transforming them into high-performing, profitable entities.

Prior to Google, he was Vice President of the North American Consumer Group at Lenovo where he led sales, product management, and operations. During his four-year tenure there, he led the division to double market share and became the fastest growing consumer PC brand in the US & Canada from 2015 to 2018. Prior to Lenovo, Mike was at Samsung Electronics where he led the Mobile Computing and IT Division to significant growth and market achievements. Prior to Samsung, he spent twelve years at Sony Electronics where he held a variety of executive positions. He also spent nine years in a range of sales and product management roles at Synnex, a national commercial IT distributor.

In 2006 he was recognized as a “Top 40-under-40” executive in consumer electronics by Dealerscope magazine. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, East Bay where he was profiled as a distinguished alumnus, and held previous board positions at the Digital Entertainment Group and San Diego’s Chamber of Commerce.
