Derek Powe is a technology and business leader with 13 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is a passionate leader who places an emphasis on driving performance while developing team members and supporting their career aspirations.
Derek currently serves as Senior Vice President of zArchitecture computing for M&T Bank, one of the largest financial institutions in North America. He leads a team of system engineers that oversee critical software on the Mainframe, with responsibilities for strategic direction, budgeting, and communication with the leadership team and business partners. Prior to joining M&T, Derek served as a technical leader at Fidelity Investments for 5 years.
Derek holds a Project Management Professional certificate (PMP), Service Management certificate (ITIL) and several IBM Mainframe badges. He graduated from the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore with a BS in Computer Science.
